Intermediate Safeguarding Training Online – Group B – Safeguarding Children – January

The training will be delivered on 2 separate days, participants will need to attend both days in order to complete the training.

The course is for Mudiad Meithrin members who are:

Trainee nursery assistants

  • Nursery assistants
  • Nursery room leaders
  • Assistant managers
  • Playworkers
  • Drivers
  • Volunteers

This course aligns with the requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Group B individuals.

This course is for all practitioners who have regular contact with children. Perhaps you may already have some knowledge about the field but need to develop your understanding further and to be aware of the steps that should be taken when concerns arise regarding the welfare of children.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand your role to protect children from harm, abuse and neglect
  • Understand how children are protected from harm, abuse and neglect
  • Identify different types of abuse, harm and neglect including domestic violence
  • Learn about legislation and procedures for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and know the recent changes to safeguarding as a result of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014
  • Understand the long-term impact of abuse on children
  • Consider lessons learned from real-life cases, where abuse has occurred in childcare settings.

There will be a charge of £30 for attending this training

All attendees will receive an electronic certificate after completing the training.
