No, you don’t need a qualification to volunteer- but if you would like to qualify to work in the childcare sector we have a training scheme you may follow.

It is your decision how much time he would like to volunteer! We can work around your time.

You can volunteer in several roles, including:

Becoming a member of the committee- Cylchoedd Meithrin and Ti a Fi need volunteers to make up the setting’s management committee.

What about running or assisting in the Cylch Meithrin or Ti a Fi?

What about being a friend to the cylch and helping when extra hands are needed to go on a walk or trip?

What about going into the cylch to talk about your work or to teach something new in the cylch?

What about sharing your expertise -do you like gardening and can help the cylch with its planting?

There are many ways to volunteer -discuss with your local Cylch Meithrin  or contact Mudiad Meithrin for more information.

Not every volunteer needs to be able to speak Welsh. There are several roles in which Welsh is not essential.

We can also support you to follow a language course to enable you to volunteer further in our settings-support and training is available to enable you to volunteer in the place that is most comfortable for you.

You will have to go through the process of getting a DBS check, and you will be asked to undertake a level of child protection and safeguarding training. The settings will be able to arrange these for you.

It depends on your role. If you are part of a committee you will have to do some paperwork, but Mudiad Meithrin has many resources and templates ready to assist you. Your Cylchoedd Support Coordinator will be there to help you along the way.

This is not an obstacle. We are very aware that most of our volunteers work, and we can work with you to ensure that the time is convenient for everyone.

Don’t worry! There is a lot of training available from Mudiad Meithrin through our Academi training branch to help you on your journey. Also each Cylch Meithrin has a Support Coordinator who is there to help and guide the settings. You will never be on your own!
