Mudiad Meithrin is delighted to broadcast their first ever cartoon as a valuable resource to bring the Welsh language to the homes of parents and their young children.

On International Animation Day (28 October) Mudiad Meithrin will be releasing its first ever cartoon ‘Dewin a Doti a’r Geiriau Hud’ (Dewin and Doti and the Magic Words) which features the two likeable children’s characters that can be found in every Cylch Meithrin throughout Wales.

The story was scripted by Anni Llŷn, and she and her husband Tudur Phillips who have also provided the voice-over for the cartoon. Cloth Cat Animation (a company responsible for the animation of some of Cyw’s children’s programmes) has animated the cartoon and the project manager was Iola Jones, Head of Communications and Partnerships at Mudiad Meithrin. The cartoon will be available from 11am on Mudiad Meithrin’s digital platforms as well as on AM Cymru.

Iola Jones, Mudiad Meithrin’s Head of Communication and Partnership, said:

“We are thrilled with this lovely cartoon that features a story about Dewin and Doti visiting Cylch Meithrin Cwm Bychan Bach to look for ‘magic words’ – which is the fuel they need to power the Balalŵn so that they can travel in the air to visit Cylchoedd Meithrin across Wales. It was a pleasure to work with the talented author and scriptwriter Anni Llŷn and with the multi-talented staff at Cloth Cat Animation in Cardiff.”

A version with English subtitles will also be available so that non-Welsh speaking parents and their children can follow the adventures of Dewin and Doti.
