Suitable for: Cylchoedd Meithrin / Day Nurseries / Mudiad Meithrin staff.
These online sessions will provide an introduction to anti-racist practice and what this means when it is applied in practice when working with children and families in an Early Years and Primary school environment. We will be exploring practical ideas, racial literacy and starting to recognize how our own personal and social identities inform how we do this work.
This online course is split into four workshops:
Session 1: 18.1.23, 12-2pm.
Handling questions about race effectively
Developing an understanding of how to handle and lead conversations about race with children.
Session 2: 8.3.23, 12-2pm.
Moving from non-racism to anti-racist practice.
Develop your racial literacy and understanding about disrupting racism in early years settings.
Session 3: 10.5.23, 12-2pm.
Planning for change
How to effectively plan using existing resources of Black Welsh individuals and communities
Session 4: 12.7.23, 12-2pm.
Planning for change surgery
Present planning ideas and receive guidance and support.
*Everyone that registers will need to attend all 4 sessions.
