Raising awareness about the menopause (1)
Raising awareness about the menopause under the guidance of Rhyl City Strategy.
Suitable for Cylchoedd Meithrin and Day Nursery Staff and Mudiad Meithrin Staff
This online session lasts 90 minutes
The menopause happens to women as they age. This is usually between 45 and 55 years of age, and it happens because of a reduction in the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. Some women have mild symptoms, but for many this will have a severe effect on their health and wellbeing, as well as having a negative impact on their home and work lives. There are many approaches and interventions that could support women to thrive during the menopause, and some of these are relevant to the workplace.
During the session we will look at breaking the stigma that pertains to the menopause and we will discover how we can help women that are going through it.
During the session we will learn…
- What is the menopause and why does it happen?
- What are some of the symptoms and how these can affect women in the workplace?
- How and why we should support women going through the menopause
- What reasonable adjustments can be made that could support?
