Cam wrth Gam Awards ceremony for students of early years studies

Mudiad Meithrin is an organisation specialising in the delivery of various Welsh-medium courses in the field of early years care and education, and is proud to announce that a special awards ceremony will be held in the Botanical Gardens, Carmarthenshire on Friday, July 7th,

During the Cam wrth Gam Schools Scheme Award Ceremony certificates will be awarded to 50 secondary school pupils who have achieved recognised early years qualifications as part of the scheme.

The successful students and a hundred of their friends and family will travel from every corner of Wales to be present at this special occasion. Over 1,500 students have qualified through the scheme since it was offered to Welsh-medium secondary schools for the first time in 2006.

This year, 11 schools participated in the Cam wrth Gam scheme, which delivers courses to secondary school students as part of the school curriculum. As part of the ceremony awards will be handed out to 3 learners who win pupil of the year.

Among the guest speakers will be Amy Thomas, WJEC Child Care, Play, Learning and Development Subject Officer and Rebecca Thomas, a former student of the Schools Scheme who is now a Cam wrth Gam assessor.

“The Cam wrth Gam Schools Scheme works closely with the heads of schools and local authorities to offer a training programme which meets the needs of the school and the community in the most effective way. Experienced and qualified Tutors, Assessors and Quality Assurance Officers deliver a range of training methods tailored to learners’ individual needs”.

This year saw 11 schools taking part in the scheme, and in September these will be joined by Ysgol Bro Teifi and Ysgol Dyffryn Aman.
