Cylch Meithrin Treasurer Joins Mudiad Meithrin’s National Committee
Aron John – accountant, father of two, volunteer treasurer in a Cylch Meithrin in Gwynedd, and co-treasurer of the ‘Sesiwn Fawr’ Dolgellau festival – has been co-opted as a new member of Mudiad Meithrin’s audit, resources and risk committee.
The committee aims to provide independent assurance to Mudiad Meithrin’s Board of Directors regarding the effectiveness of internal management, corporate governance and risk management, monitoring and advising on financial affairs and resources.
Aron will join a committee of six other volunteers who scrutinise the Mudiad’s activity from a financial viewpoint, using his experience as a member of a voluntary management committee for Cylchoedd Meithrin to inform his contributions.
Welcoming him to the committee Gwenno George, the Mudiad’s voluntary treasurer, said:
“As an organisation which depends on a broad community of 1200 volunteers serving on our Cylchoedd Meithrin’s management committees, we are very glad to welcome Aron into our fold, knowing that he has much to offer due to his varied experiences as voluntary treasurer to several important causes.”
Aron John said:
“Mudiad Meithrin’s work is important to me, and I’m keen to help the Mudiad as best I can, and in doing so help the cylchoedd, staff, families and children.”
Aron will volunteer as a committee member for an initial period of five years (with the possibility of a second term).Mudiad Meithrin will soon be searching for new members to join its Board of Directors, which will include directors under the age of 30 and individuals with experience of the early years, childcare and play.
