As an organisation passionate about offering Welsh-medium education to every child in Wales, we will be hosting a procession at 11.30 on Sunday 31 July at the National Eisteddfod field in Tregaron to celebrate Mudiad Meithrin’s 50th birthday.
Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Mudiad Meithrin’s Chief Executive said:
“We’re very excited to announce that Dafydd Iwan has agreed to lead this special procession to celebrate an important milestone in the history of Mudiad Meithrin and the growth of Welsh-medium education for the last half century. There is an open invitation to EVERYBODY to join us in this special occasion at the National Eisteddfod in Tregaron!”
A very successful parade was held for children from Cylchoedd Meithrin in Denbighshire at the Urdd Eisteddfod in June this year as well, but this time – as well as inviting children and families from Cylchoedd Meithrin in Ceredigion – we are inviting EVERYBODY to join us who either attend a Cylch Meithrin at present anywhere in Wales or have been involved with the Mudiad over the last 50 years.
Heather Davies-Rollinson, Regional Manager for South-west Wales said:
“We estimate that around 250 children and their families will be taking part in this procession to celebrate Welsh-medium education in the area as well as Mudiad Meithrin’s 50th birthday. We also welcome any child and his/her family visiting the Eisteddfod who attends a Cylch Meithrin, Cylch Ti a Fi or day nursery in any part of Wales to join us.”
At the end of the procession the popular children’s entertainer, Siani Sionc, will give a live performance to entertain the children on the main outside stage on the Eisteddfod field.
