In this course, we will explore the relationship between creativity and literacy, using the work of Welsh artist Paul Eastwood as our main source of inspiration. Eastwood’s imaginative approach to storytelling through art offers a unique perspective on how creativity can enhance literacy learning, especially for young children.

We will discuss:

• How to transform an artist’s ideas into interactive, inclusive, sensory-rich invitations to play that support literacy
• The tools and inspiration needed to integrate creativity into literacy programmes, enriching the educational experience of young learners
• The relevance of this approach, particularly as Estyn places a strong emphasis on literacy as a central aspect of education in Wales.
