Each Cylch Meithrin must have a Management Committee, which is a group of people who run the Cylch Meithrin.
Management Committee is used as a term to describe the Cylch Meithrin’s governing body. It is this body which has legal responsibility for the cylch. (Not everyone can be a charity trustee. Check the eligibility guidelines on the Charity Commission website)
Legal aspects of running the Cylch Meithrin include complying with:
- Care Inspectorate Wales’ National Minimum Standards
- Employment law
- The Charity Commission regulations
Although Mudiad Meithrin does not have legal rights over the Cylch Meithrin they are here to help you every step of the way.
Depending on the legal structure of the committee, every Cylch Meithrin registered with CIW has either a Registered Person or a Responsible Individual, as well as a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. If possible, it is also good practice to have a sub-committee with vice-officers to share the work.
